Snake

What is Snake?

Snake is the classic arcade game you can play for free right in your browser, with nothing to download and no account needed. The rules are simple: steer the snake, eat apples, grow longer, and avoid crashing. The snake moves on its own, and the only thing you control is which direction it turns. Hitting the wall or your own body ends the round.
The game offers multiple modes that change the rules, including Classic, Walls, Portal, Sokoban, Minesweeper, and Peaceful, a relaxed mode where the snake stops instead of crashing when blocked. You can also adjust the speed, board size, number of apples, fruit type, snake color, and board theme. Your best score for each combination of settings is saved in your browser.

How to Play

On a computer, steer with the arrow keys or W A S D. Press P to pause.
On a phone or tablet, swipe in the direction you want the snake to go.
Eat apples to grow longer and increase your score. After a set number of apples, a bonus fruit may appear. Plan your turns early and leave yourself open space, because the snake never stops moving and gets harder to control as it grows.
